1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using AILES (Artificial Intelligence Legal Expert System), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service. By creating an account or otherwise accessing AILES, you confirm that you have read, understood, and consented to these Terms of Use in full.

2. Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of AILES materials for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

  • modify or copy the materials
  • use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
  • attempt to reverse engineer any software contained on the AILES website
  • remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials

3. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

All content, software, AI models, prompts, training data, retrieval systems, user interface designs, generated outputs (including legal analyses, issue summaries, explanatory reports, and any other AI-generated material), and other materials provided through AILES are the exclusive intellectual property of AILES Legal Technology Ltd and its licensors. They are protected by United Kingdom and international intellectual property laws, including copyright, database rights, trade secret protections, and confidentiality obligations.

By accessing or using AILES, you expressly consent to the following:

  • You will not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from any part of AILES, its underlying systems, or its outputs, in whole or in part.
  • You will not share account credentials, session recordings, screenshots, exported reports, or any other materials generated through AILES with any third party without prior written consent from AILES Legal Technology Ltd.
  • You will not use AILES, its outputs, or any information obtained through it to develop, train, evaluate, benchmark, or improve any competing product, service, AI model, or legal technology system.
  • You acknowledge that AILES's proprietary methods, prompt designs, retrieval pipelines, model fine-tuning approaches, and overall product design constitute confidential information and trade secrets, and you agree to maintain the confidentiality of these materials indefinitely, including after you stop using the service.
  • You will promptly notify AILES Legal Technology Ltd of any actual or suspected unauthorised access, disclosure, or use of AILES materials of which you become aware.

Any breach of these obligations may result in immediate termination of your access without notice and may give rise to claims for damages, injunctive relief, account of profits, and other remedies available under law or equity.

4. Pilot, Beta, and Tester Access

Where you have been granted access to AILES as a pilot tester, beta user, or evaluation participant, the following additional terms apply:

  • You agree to use mock, fictional, or hypothetical data only. You will not submit real client information, identifying personal details, privileged communications, or any other information relating to actual legal matters.
  • You acknowledge that pilot and beta features are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and may be incomplete, contain bugs, or produce inaccurate outputs.
  • You will not rely on any AILES output for the purposes of providing legal advice, making professional decisions, filing court documents, or any other client-facing or commercial use during the pilot phase.
  • You consent to AILES Legal Technology Ltd retaining, analysing, and using your submissions, queries, conversations, and feedback for the purposes of evaluating, debugging, and improving the platform.
  • You waive any claim to ownership, payment, royalty, or other compensation arising from feedback, suggestions, ideas, or contributions you provide during pilot or beta access; all such contributions become the property of AILES Legal Technology Ltd.
  • You will not disclose the existence, content, capabilities, limitations, or commercial plans of AILES to any third party, including colleagues in competing firms or organisations, without prior written consent from AILES Legal Technology Ltd.

5. Legal Disclaimer

AILES provides AI-powered legal assistance for informational purposes only. This service does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a qualified solicitor or other licensed legal professional. Users should always consult with appropriately qualified legal professionals for specific legal matters. AILES Legal Technology Ltd is not a law firm and does not provide legal services regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

6. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and truthful information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials
  • Using the service in compliance with applicable laws and professional regulations
  • Not using the service for any unlawful or prohibited activities
  • Complying with all confidentiality and intellectual property obligations set out in Section 3

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the service, to understand our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your personal information.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall AILES Legal Technology Ltd or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption) arising out of the use of, or inability to use, AILES materials, even if AILES or an authorised representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under applicable law.

9. Accuracy of Materials

The materials appearing on AILES may include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. AILES does not warrant that any of the materials on its website or generated by its AI systems are accurate, complete, or current. AILES may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.

10. Modifications

AILES Legal Technology Ltd may revise these Terms of Use at any time without notice. By continuing to use this website, you agree to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms of Use.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
